IM-Rec Flag Football Champs
Crowned
by: Jeff Dietz
The dust has settled
and one team is left standing. It
was a hard battle, but when it
was over Antonio’s Team stood
tall and proud as this years Fall
Intramural-Rec Flag Football
Champions. The team that they
challenged was non other then
the 3 year undefeated Todd
Scott’s Team.
It’s not the first time
that these two teams have met.
The first battled in the regular
season in “Mud Bowl 2”. Since
that game ended in a three over
time tie, it was very exciting to
see what was going to happen in
the finals.
The game started out
as predicted with a first play
end zone strike by Todd Scott’s
Team. They took it the length
of the field to pull ahead 6 to
nothing. Then the game started
to get interesting.
Antonio’s team
answered straight back with
a controversial score of their
own. The teams continue to go
back and forth but by half time
Todd Scott’s team’s lead was
dwindling fast
As we started the
second half, the tides changed
and David started to beat up
on Goliath. Led by a few key
interceptions by Andre Frazier,
Antonio’s Team slowly started
to put Todd Scott’s Team into a
scoring slumber that they would
not be able to wake up from.
The horn sounded,
time.
The winners walked away with
an impressive trophy, but better
yet a college memory that they
can always carry with them.
Four and a half months until
the spring football season. Can
Todd Scott’s Team retake their
title, or will we see yet another
team emerge to become IM-Rec
Champions!
Stay tuned...
the game was over, and the
celebration began.
The champions
had been dethroned. It was
following the game when the
teams showed their true colors
as they all congratulated each
other in a great showing of good
sportsmanship. It was obvious to
everyone that attended this game
or any of the other games, that
everyone involved had a great
