NEWS AROUND THE PLANTS PLANT NO. 1 Employees of the Knitting Depart ment express their sympathy to Clar ence Sink in the death of his father, George Free Sink, on April 26, 1956. A daughter, Terri Lee Warren, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Warren on April 26, 1956. The mother, Sudie Sells Warren, is a timekeeper in the Knitting Department. Electa Apple, Looping Department, recently visited her daughter in Akron, Ohio. While there, she and her daugh ter flew to Pittsburgh for the showing of the cinerama movie, "The Seven Won ders of the Ancient World.Electa was particularly impressed by the Leaning Tower of Pisa, St. Peter's of Rome, the East African Volcano and the Hang ing Gardens of Babylon. On her return trip home. Electa visited her son in Charleston, West Virginia. Congratulations and best wishes to Sarah Loggins and Jimmy Rayle who were married on April 22, in Chester field, South' Carolina. Sarah is em ployed in the Pairing Department. Our deepest sympathy goes to Mary Clodfelter in the tragic loss of her daughter, Shelby, on May 13, 1956. Mary is employed in the Looping De partment. Also, we extend our sympathy to Linnie Mae Spratt in the death of her father, J. F. Spratt, on April 20; and to Myrtle Strickland in the loss of her brother, Lance Maynard. Both Lennie Mae and Myrtle are loopers. PLANT NO. 2 jumps and training in the technique of dropping heavy equipment. These jumps make a total of 29 for Specialist 3/c Martin. A member of the Division's Signal Company, he is a veteran of World War II. He has served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater in the 11th Air borne Division. Martin is the son of Mrs. Ina Martin, 210 Barker Street, and a brother of Margye Martin, timekeeper in the Knitting Department. We extend our sympathy to H. C. Sisk, Shipping Department, in the loss of his sister, Mrs. J. C. Tucker of Pilot Mountain, N. C. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Scottl They have a new daugh ter, Pamelia, born on April 16, 1956. Richard is employed in the Knitting De partment. Also, congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Laster on the birth of a daughter, Beverly Lynn, born April 19. Gladys, the mother, is a knitter. PLANT NO. 4 Lloyd Cody Martin, Knitting De partment, who entered service in July of 1954, recently graduated from the 82nd Airborne Division Jumpmaster School at Fort Bragg, N. C. The two- week school included three parachute - 8 - Mrs. Lelia Carson, recently re tired at Plant #4, leaves the plant bag and baggage following the dinner given for her by the employees of the Finish ing Department.
