Rusaline Briles spent her vacation at Myrtle Beach. Carrie Johnson and her husband visited relatives in Michigan. Mary Winslow and Virginia Griffith visited White Lake. Christine Haynes visited Carolina Beach. Plant Four Babe Hayes, office of Plant #4, who spent his vacation at Lake Lure, was the inspiration for the following poem composed by Verda Solomon, pairer of Plant #4: Vacation "My vacation, " he said, "is to fish at Lake Lure." Where a nice good catch was his, he was sure. There the weather was cool, with no thought of sunburn. And the days flew by, the time came to return. "My big fish got away, " he said with a smile; But he got two red legs, a reminder for a while. "I'll get the big one next year, " was all he could say-- We can count on this, there are markets all along the way! Doris J. Boyles and Donald L. Shelton were married on May 28, I960. Donald is employed in the Greige Goods Department of Plant #4. Congratula tions and best wishes to the newly- married couple. Plant Six Pat Rush, reporter for Plant #6, sends us the following vacation news from the Looping Department: Pauline Brown and family and Frances Macon and family visited White Lake. Elsie Atkinson enjoyed her vaca tion at Cherry Grove Beach, S. C. Estelle Parrish went to Carolina Beach. Helen Ledbetter visited her mother in Tennessee. Edna Grubb visited her daughter in New York. Margaret Beeson went to Columbia, S. C. , to see her son who is in service. Geneva Ellington and Bertha Spell and their families toured California and parts of Mexico. From the Knitting Department: Myrtle Beach vacationers were Robert Smith, Clayton Fogleman, Billy Goins, Frances Turney, Leoma Baker and Marie Myers. Carolina Beach vacationers were Nancy Davis and Arlene Couzens. Dewitt Winfree spent some time fishing at Swansbcro. -12-
