Questions and Answers
Just what is the United Fund Drive ?
Once each year, twenty-eight char
acter building agencies ask our com
munity to make one contribution to
meet their operating expenses. This
simple campaign combines into one
effort and one asking rather than to
have some organization asking each
week for a donation.
Who decides which organizations re
ceive support from the United Fund?
There is an admissions committee
made up of citizens of High Point
who decide which organizations will
participate and how much each one
will be allocated.
How do we know these organizations
get the amount and how is it spent?
The budget committee, made up of
citizens in our community, must ap
prove every dollar spent by any one
of these organizations.
ACE PARKER
John Parker, of Plant #7 Dye
House, admires the number seven
iron with which he made a hole-in-one
at the Blair Park course. Playing a
temporary green 145 yards from the
tee, ’’Ace” Parker made his second
hole-in-one. His other ace was also
at Blair Park. Parker has been golf
ing for about fifteen years. He has
been playing recently with Frank B.
Smith of our Sales Department, who
claims to have given Parker some
pointers on the game. It has not been
determined whether Smith has been
demonstrating the right way or the
wrong way to swing the club.
Parker said he had not realized
he had made a hole-in-one until he
had difficulty in finding his ball.
Needless to say, he was amazed to
find the ball in the cup.

OF EFFICIENCY.
