Donald Stanley, representing the knitting department on the Quality Con trol Committee, found "by feel" a sock which he thought to be too large for the size being knitted. The sizing board proved Stanley to be correct. This Tighten Stitch called for tightening the stitch, being done in the above picture. Kenneth Idol is the fixer adjusting the machine. Cause Of Streak London Kidd, fixer, and John Boyer, knitter, look for the cause of a bad streak in a stocking. A defective sinker was located and replaced. Goods Returned To Knitting At this point, Dorothy Mabe, work ing with the regular Quality Control De partment, brought some hose with bad plaiting from the pairing department to the knitting department to report to Ralph Wilson. This is part of the regu lar Quality Control procedure which functions constantly. Any work needing correction in any department at any time is immediately reported by the supervisor of the department in which it is found to the supervisor of the de partment in which the corrective meas ures are to be taken.
