CLYDE W. B RILES
DIES UNEXPECTEDLY
Clyde W. Briles, manager of the
Production Control Department of the
Main Office, died October 7, 1961.
He was born in High Point on
January 21, 1908, and had spent his
entire life here. He attended High
Point city schools and the University
of North Carolina. He was a veteran
of World War II, having served in the
Air Corps.
Clyde came with Adams-Millis in
1929, joining the Production Control
Department and advancing to the posi
tion of head of the department.
Clyde was never married. He is
survived by his mother, Mrs. Lee A.
Briles, and two sisters, Mary Lee
Briles and Ruth Addison Briles, allof
the home.
MISS WHALEN SUCCUMBS
Miss Joan Whalen, of the New
York Office, died September 23, 1961,
following a brief illness.
She was a native of Brooklyn,
New York, and had lived there her
entire life.
Miss Whalen had been employed
in the New York Office since June 1,
1930.
