MEET YOUR SUPERVISOR Fred Thomas Bennett was born in Stokes County on July 9i 1934. At the age of three, he moved with his family to High Point and has lived in Guilford County most of his life. After attending Allen Jay and Sumner Schools, Tommy came with Adams-Millis on January 24, 1952. His first job was carrying lots in the Finishing Depart ment of Plant #1 for about nine months. He then worked in the stock room for a little less than a year, and in October of 1953, was trans ferred to the Order Department of Plant #3. In January of 1956, Bennett was transferred back to Plant #1 where he was placed in charge of operations, including Berry-Pak, clipping and mending, in the new base ment. Betty Jo Chambers also came to work in the Finishing Department of Plant #1 in 1952. She became Mrs. Fred Thomas Bennett on August 13, 1953. Bennett entered service with the Army on November 11, 1956. He served with the 3rd Gunnery Battalion in Germany. Since his release in November, 1958, he has been a mem ber of the 30th Infantry Division, 252nd Howitzer Battalion of the Na tional Guard. Upon his return to Adams-Millis in December of 1958, Tommy was placed in charge of the basement floor of the Finishing Department. He has served as chairman of Plant #l's Quality Control Committee for some time. On October 2, Bennett was named Quality Control coordinator for all half-hose plants. In this new ca pacity, he will coordinate the mainte nance of quality standards in Plants #1, #2 and #4. He will report directly to General Superintendent R. L. Boyles. Bennett will check the work in all stages of production. His findings will be reported to the responsible super visors in an effort to improve quality. Studies and statistical reports will be made to determine when quality stand ards have been met. Investigations and studies will also be made to deter mine the necessary steps to correct defective production. Making the necessary corrections will be the responsibility of the supervisors; Quality Control will make recom mendations as results of its findings. IN MEMORIAM Willard D.
