NEWS AROUND THE PLANTS Plant One Peggy Jean Osborne became the bride of Bobby Joe Motley at the Motley home, 109 School Street, in Thomas- ville, on March 31, 1962. Their vows were exchanged before the Rev. Vestal Motley, father of the bridegroom. Following the wedding, guests were entertained at a reception, Peggy is employed in the Seaming Department of Plant #1 and Bobby is employed by Swain Supply Company. Congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds ! Plant Two Loretta Bryant and Dennis E. Porterfield were married on April 27 at the First Baptist Church in Thomas- ville, N. C. They are now living at 108 Oaklawn Street in High Point. To Loretta (who is a folder at the Pointer) and Dennis, we extend best wishes for many, many years of happiness. Pat Hunt and Myrtle Hill, of the Finishing Department, vacationed last week at Myrtle Beach. Bertie Nelson spent the Easter holidays with her daughter, Audrey, who is a student at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. Bertie is em ployed in the Finishing Department. Mae Gordon visited relatives in Martinsville, Virginia. Shelby Jean Long visited with her parents in Tabor City. Sadie Neal visited her new grand daughter who lives in Texas. (Con gratulations on becoming a grand mother, Sadie!) Lena Snyder visited several places in Florida, but was happy to return to North Carolina. (No spot like it, is there ?) Hilma Wilcox visited relatives in Lenoir. Ask Mary Winslow how it feels to go deep sea fishing and get sea sick. Better luck next time, Mary. We are happy to report that Mil dred Briggs, of the Finishing Depart ment, has returned to her home from the hospital where she underwent major surgery. We are sorry to have to report, however, that June Johnson entered the hospital for surgery on May 17. Hope she'll be back home soon, too. Our sympathy goes to Virginia Griffith whose sister-in-law was killed recently in an automobile accident in Florida. We are glad, though, that Virginia, who was in an accident her self, sustained only minor injuries. Plant Four Wence Dean has returned home from City Hospital in Winston-Salem where he was a patient for several days. Wence lives across the street from our Kernersville plant and he can now watch the people going to and from the plant where he is plant mechanic. 10 -
