Southern Die Casting Jim Woollen, chairman of the High Point Army Advisory Committee, along with the other members of his committee, was a guest of the Third U. S, Army Headquarters and the XII U. S. Army Corps Headquarters at Ft. McPherson, Georgia, on June 7. The trip to Atlanta was made in an Air Force C-131 at an altitude of 14, 000 miles and a speed of approxi mately 200 miles per hour. The Com mittee was briefed at both Third Army Headquarters ani XII Corps Head quarters and had lunch at the Ft. Mc Pherson Officer's Club. They return ed to High Point that evening on the same C-131. The purpose of the visit was to acquaint the members of the Committee with the scope and facili ties of the Third U. S. Army, which covers a seven-state area, and the XII U. S. Ariny Corps, which handles all reserve activities within a four- state area of the Third Army area. Empty your vacuum cleaner bag by putting it inside a large paper bag. Hennis, son of Sallie and Bill Hennis, received his Doctor's Degree in Education from Duke Uni versity on June 4. He graduated from High Point High School and High Point College, after which he earned his Master's Degree at Appalachian State Teacher's College in Boone, N. C. , and then entered Duke University. William's mother, Sallie Hennis, is employed as a mender in Plant #6, and his father, Bill Hennis, is a knitter in Plant #7. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hudson on May 27, 1962. Mrs. Hudson (Nancy) is employed in the Knitting Department of Plant #6. A son, Roger Lewis, Jr., was born to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Idol on May 22, 1962. Roger is employed in the Casting Department of Southern Die Casting and Engineering Company. A daughter, Gloria Anne, was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Morgan on June 3, 1962. George is employed in the Casting Department of Southern Die Casting and Engineering Company. A soda fountain straw is better and safer to light your gas range oven than a short match. Used tea leaves make a very good fertilizer for your potted plants. If you prefer percolated coffee, a pinch of soda added as it starts to per colate will enhance the flavor.
