Benjamin Butler visited with rela tives in Ridgeway, S. C. Andrew Harrison spent his vacation visiting in Columbia, S. C. Charles Mobley went to Pilot Mt. for a visit with his wife's relatives. Boarding Department: The mountains were the favorite of Boarding Department vacationers this year. Pearl Queen and her family visited in Cherokee, Asheville and other points of interest in the mountains. John Stillwell and his wife also visited Cherokee and Ghost City. Charlie Mann, his wife and son took a trip through the Smokies, visiting Bryson City, Chero kee, and Fontana Dam and Village. Hazel Cleary visited friends and relatives in Virginia. Also visiting in Virginia was Flossie Weiss; she visited relatives in Richmond. Louise Creel and her family went to South Carolina for a visit with rela tive s. Pauline Guinn and her husband vacationed at Carolina Beach. W. D. Sikes and wife visited their daughter in Columbia, S. C. Fannie Hoffman had relatives from Durham visiting her. Estelle Jolly had a wonderful vacation at beautifixl White Lake while she was recovering from a nine-day stay at High Point Memorial Hospital. She says she had much rather have been working. Finishing Department: Some chose the mountains for vacationing and some the beach. Those going to Myrtle Beach were Pearlie Wall and family. Jack Dorn, and Christine Hiatt and family. At Carolina Beach were Evelyn Marsh and family and Sylvia Johnson and her family. Margie Mills and her husband chose Ocean Drive in South Carolina. Iva Moore and her family went to Kure Beach; and Rosalie Vestal and her family sunned at Follies Beach, S. C. Ruby and Zeb Rush and Lora Keever and family toured the U. S. S. North Carolina in Wilmington. Lora also visited relatives in Bolivia. Mary Bowman and her husband spent some time with relatives in Shallotte, N. C. Gladys Rogers and her family took the opportunity vacation week offered to visit her son in Goldsboro, N. C. Mountain vacationers were Jewell Stamey and her family who visited Cherokee; Dorothy and Bobby Dills and daughter who visited relatives'in Canton; Doris Hulin and her family who visited points of interest in the western part of N. C.; Mary Lou De hart and family who spent some time with relatives in Hayesville, N. C.; and Odessa Sizemore who, with her family, attended the play "Horn In The West" at Boone, N. C. Sidney Peele and his family chose the mountains for vacationing--but they were the mountains of Kentucky and West Virginia. Martha Rose and her family spent their vacation with relatives in Tennes see. Sarah Hazelton and family visited relatives in Georgetown, S. C. Nona Carroll and her husband visited their daughter in Maryland and attended a baseball game between the Los Angeles and Washington teams. Betty Johnson went to Florida for a visit with relatives. Vacationing in Florida were Annie Stutts and family visiting relatives in Orlando, Pauline and Wade Kindley visiting relatives, and Virginia Beasley and her family vacationing at Daytona Beach. Shipping Department: Bob Bates spent his vacation work ing on his new beach home at Wilmington Beach, N. C. - 13 -
