PLANT #4 Vacation time has come and gone, and all Plant #4 has to show for it are a few sunburned faces, a grumble here and there about having to come back to work and lots of empty pocketbooks. Knitting Department: It seems that Florida was a popu lar vacation spot for the Knitting De - partment this year. Mr, and Mrs. Troy Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Calhoun and Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Snow visited Florida during the Fourth of July week. Mr. and Mrs. Snow visited Ernest Pegg, a retired employee of Adams-Millis Corporation, at Plant City, Florida. Carmel Meadows and his family spent their vacation visiting Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Ghost Town Mountain. Seaming Department: Phillip Pender had a wonderful time at Myrtle Beach and has a red face to prove it! "Babe" and Ruth Hayes camped out between Wildcat Branch and Polecat Creek in Randleman, N. C., and caught lots of catfish. They agree that there is nothing like the wide open spaces, Annie Mae Young and Janice Atkins went to Cherokee, N, C., and had a good time seeing the Indians. Doris Shelton's vacation was one more "Bang-Up!" And the side of her car is more so than the vacation. Beulah Lamar and her family spent their vacation in Charleston, S. C. Mary Rose Williams spent three days at Carolina Beach and Fort Fisher. Marie Bowman and family spent three days touring the mountains. Ruth Collins went to Morehead City and caught the largest fish that was caught in her party. Opal and Elwood Groce spent their vacation in the mountains at Cherokee, N. C., and Gatlinburg and Knoxville, Tennessee. lone West and Mary Culler also toured the mountains during vacation, visiting Grandfather Mountain, Boone (where they rode Tweetsie), Cherokee and Ghost Town Mountain Park where they danced in the Red Dog Saloon. Upon reach ing their destination, they found there was no place to rest their weary bones because of the races at Daytona; so, they could do nothing else but journey twenty-four miles inland to find a place to sleep. Although the side trip wasn't planned, they had a good time anyway. Maxine Perdue and her family toured Florida on their vacation. They visited Key West, Marineland, Silver Springs and other points of interest. Gail Warren and her husband spent the week at White Lake, N. C. - 15 -
