FRANK SMITH, SALES DEPARTMENT, DIES Frank Bradshaw Smith, 61, assis tant sales manager of Adams-Millis Corporation, died August 13 in Duke Hospital. He had been in declining health for two years and critically ill since April. Mr. Smith was born in Orange County on October 29, 1900, a son of Frank and Bessie Thompson Smith. He was educated in Orange County and High Point city schools. He had been with Adam^-Millis for 28 years. Frank was a member of the Kiwanis Club of High Point and his interest was in higher education for high school graduates. He was a Mason and a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he was an elder. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy J. Smith of the home, 1114 North Rotary Drive; one son, FrankB. Smith, Jr., of College Park, Md.; one sister, an aunt and two nieces. To the members of his family, we ex tend our deepest sympathy. Ruth Baker, Sample Room, Succumbs Mrs. Ruth L. Baker, 45, em ployee of the Sample Department, died July 28 in High Point Memorial Hospi tal. She had been in ill health since February. Mrs. Baker was born in Wilkes County on April 3, 1917, the daughter of Claude and Mamie York McCann. She had been a resident of High Point for 18 years and an employee of Adams-Millis since October of 1955. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and Hope Bible Class. Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband, Roy W. Baker, and three daughters, Barbara, Christine and Gail, all of the home, 656 Wesley Drive, and her mother, also of Hieh Point. To the members of the family, we extend our deepest sympathy. Donald G. ; Maxey, knitter of j Plant #4, returned to work July 23, 1962, after a tour of active duty with the Army. Donald entered military service July 12, I960, and received his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia. After completing basic training, he was assigned to the 8th Infantry Regiment of the 4th Infan try Division at Fort Lewis, Washing ton, where he served as a rifleman. For exemplary performance of duty as a radio operator while on a maneuver, he was given a Certificate of Achieve ment. Maxey was separated from the service on July 11, 1962, with the rank of Specialist 4/C. He resides on Route #1, Kernersville, N. C.
