Thirty-One IMC Certificates Presented Certificates of completion of courses in supervision were present ed to members of the Industrial Management Club at the Safety Meet ing on September 13. The certificates indicate completion of courses offered by the Industrial Management Club during the year ending June, 1962. The courses offered by the Indus trial Management Club are a part of the education and self-improvement program of the club, which is spon sored by the High Point Y. M. C. A. The courses are offered in the even ings and represent many hours of attendance and preparation. Members of the Industrial Management Club choose the courses which apply most to their work. Instructors come from High Point College, the local schools and industries in High Point. The 1962 membership included thirty-one members from Adams- Millis Corporation. Twenty-one members received certificates of completion. In addition to the courses offered in night sessions, members participate in monthly meetings and annual management development con ferences. Those receiving certificates and the cdurses received are as follows; Packing and Shipping Course: Mickey Carter, Ben Hooks and Bill Hayworth. Hosiery Finishing Problems Course; Elmer Hoover, Ray Lee, E. C. Tatum, Jr., C. I. Warren, Jr., Jerry Webb, Lendo Dowdy, Donnie Beck and Ben Hooks. Rapid Reading Course: Jack Mabe and Donnie Beck. Foreman Psychology Course; Hazel Crowson, R. E. Michael, W.Z. Rush, Dewitt Winfree, Walter Von- cannon, W. D. Cornelison and Charles Tuttle. First Aid Course: Leo Griffin. Shop Mathematics Course: Don Williard, Bill Hayworth , Mickey Carter, Dewitt Winfree, Walter Von- cannon, W. D. Cornelison and Charles Tuttle. Technology of Plant Maintenance Course: Ben Hooks Business In Action Course; C. D. Bate s. Plant Visitation Course; C. D. Bates Project Ideas by Drawing Course; Donnie Beck. DALE AWARDED $25 Sam Dale has been awarded $25 for development of an improved belt for the automatic clipping machine. Belts previously used required re placement about every six weeks. In addition to the cost of the belt, Sam Dale this was costly because of the time required to install the belt and because of the loss of time of the operator. Down time also resulted in loss of production. Dale experimented with several different ideas before developing a belt which is less expensive, wears longer and requires less time for in stallation. He is supervisor of the Seaming and Clipping Department of Plant #1. (TUCCESS)\ -5-
