Frances Elaine Sells became the bride of Foster Harris on Saturday, October 27, in the chapel of Green Street Baptist Church. Officiating minister was Dr. E. W. Mrs. Mabel Hurd Sister of Iva Moore, Finishing Depart ment, Plant #1. SOCIAL SECURITY FACTS Beginning January 1, 1963, your social security tax (FICA) will increase 1/2%. The rate will automatically be increased from 3 1/8% to 3 5/8%. The larger amount will be deducted from each pay check. Your employer is re quired to withhold the social security tabc from your earnings and send it to the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, Maryland. Your employer is also required to pay the same amount as is deducted from your check. In other words, your employer has to match your payments dollar for dollar. Deductions are not made for earnings over $4, 800 in any one year. If you have earnings of $4,800, or more, for the year, $174 will be deducted from your pay, and your employer will pay an additional $174 to your retirement income. An error in your social security accovint number would mean someone else might benefit from your payments. You should check the number on your withholding statements and your pay check stubs to see if they agree with your number. If you are in doubt about whether or not your account has been properly credited, you may write to the Social Security Administration, Baltimore 35, Maryland.
