THREE RETIRED AT KERNERSVILLE Sullivan B. Jones, of the Knit ting Department of Plant #4, retired May 28 on the basis of physical dis ability. He has not been able to work since undergoing major surgery two years ago. Sullivan has spent most of his life in and around Sullivan Jones Kernersville and attended schools there. He saw service in the Armed Forces' Medical Division during World War II. He came to Adams- Millis in September of 1948. His wife, the former Miss Treva Smith, is employed in the Seaming Depart ment of Plant #4. The Joneses live on Star Route, Kernersville, N. C. David C. Hill, employee of the Seaming Depart ment of Plant #4, has retired on the basis of age. He ran ribbers during World War II and since 1948 has been a materials handler for the loopers, seamers and clip pers. Mr. Hill was David Hill born in Stokes County where he attend ed public school. After several years of farming, he moved to Forsyth Coun ty and worked for the S & R Roller Mills in Kernersville prior to joining Adams -Millis. In 1934, he married Helen Hill who was employed in Plant #4 from 1949 until June of this year. They have three children, two of whom were also formerly employed in Plant #4. Mr. and Mrs. Hill live at 249 Whicker Road in Kernersville and they attend the Church of Christ. Robah Whicker, employee of Plant #4 in Kernersville, retired June 28 with 28 years of continu ous service in the Knitting and Dye Departments. Whicker was born in Forsyth County near Kern ersville and had worked in a furni ture plant and Robah J^hiclcBr farmed prior to August of 1928 when he started to work in the Knitting De partment of Plant #4. In 1934, he married Miss Esther Yoxing. She was a looper in Plant #4. The Whickers live at 263 West Moun tain Street in Kernersville and attend the Kernersville Moravian Church. They have one son, Ronald, who is stationed with the Armed Forces in Germany. GRADUATE James Ray mond Powers, son of Juanita Myers, of the Finishing Depart ment of Plant #1, was a June gradu ate of High Point Central High School. - 4 -
