On July 29, the employees of the

Jim Ledwell with a birthday party.
Several of the girls brought home-made
cakes for the occasion. Since Ernest
Tysinger's birthday was the next day,

Boarding Department:
With almost everyone having had
their vacations, just about all agreed
they didn't feel as though they's had
one. We can blame it on the weather,
perhaps--that long awaited "good ole
summertime" which now we find is
entirely out of hand, sapping all of us
boarders of what little energy we did
have.
The 'first day after vacation, the
day seemed much too long for Phyllis
Jones, who was about to toast her
sandwich an hour ahead of time when
she was reminded by her buddy that
it was just ten o'clock. Goes to show
that Phyllis isn't exactly a clockwatch
er.
Willie Young is receiving quite a
bit of advice on how to be a good
father-in-law (and how much it's going
to cost him). Willie's daughter,
"Charlie, "is planning a fall wedding.
Seems as though the "jinx" is on
Sue Allison--not being satisfied with
all that sunburn, she had to go and
get all bruised up on a motorcycle.
Dorcas Thomas says anyone wish
ing to get cooled off should visit her
"cousin, " Ruth Thomas. Dorcas said
her cooling system actually raised
goose bumps on one of those swelter
ing nights.
As usual, we would like to wager
that Bill Sink still has the best toma
toes of any Adams-Millis farmer.
Wonder if it's because Lib picked them.
Congratulations to former boarder
Frankie Bulla, whose lovely daughter,
Jo Carol, recently received her
nurse's cap from Cabarrus Memorial
Hospital. No wonder Frankie is so
proud lately.
