THREE ELECT EARLY RETIREMENT Sadie M. Barrow, turner, Plant #4, retired October 14, 1966, on the basis of age. She had been employed at Adams-Millis Cor poration for thirty- seven years. In 1929. she started her first public work, mend ing, with Adams- Sadie Barrow Millis Corporation and earned $1. 00 for her first day's work. Later, she transferred to inspecting and did this type of work until it was discontinued in 1956, after which she sewed for a while. During the recent years of her employment, she was a turner. Sadie was born and reared just outside of Kernersville on the County Line Road and attended the local schools. Her husband, John H. Barrow, was employed by Adams-Millis for thirty years before he retired in 1957, due to failing health; he died in 1959. There were five children in the family, one boy and four girls. Sadie resides at 111 Corum Street in Kernersville where she is a member of the First Baptist Church. David E . Culler, sweeper. Plant #3, has re tired on the basis of age. He had been employed by Adams-Millis for more than forty- three years. His first job was that of boarding with Crown Hosiery Millis when he was David Culler a teenager. In 1921, he came to work at the High Point Plant as a boarder and worked until 1929 when he quit to farm a while. In November of 1930, he returned to Adams-Millis and three years later, transferred to the Kern ersville plant where he worked until his retirement. He has been a sweep er during the most recent years of his employment. David was born in High Point, but when he was quite young, his family moved to a farm on the Wallburg Road where he grew up. Mrs. Culler is the former Mary Welborn of High Point, and an employee of Adams-Millis for twenty-six years. The Cullers have two boys and four girls; two of the daughters are pres ently employed at Adams-Millis. The family resides at 123 Paddison Street in Kernersville, where they have lived for twenty-seven years--in view of the Adams-Millis plant where Mr. Culler has spent many years of his working career. David is an active member of the Kernersville Pilgrim Church. After twenty- nine years of con tinuous service with Adams-Millis Corporation, Mar garet F. Bencini retired October 3, 1966, on the basis of age. She had been employed in the ladies' hosiery division since August of 1937. Margaret Bencini Born on a farm near Laurel Hill, N. C. , when she was four Margaret moved with her parents to the grounds of Scotland County Home in Laurin- burg, where her father was superin tendent for sixteen years. She attend- ^ ed high school in Laurinburg.
