Margie Vaughn was very happy about the surprise birthday party her children gave her at the City Lake Park. If anyone has an old toupee laying around, we would appreciate it if you would lend it to Dwight Miller. He seems to have lost his hair when he left for two weeks of summer camp at Fort Jackson. . .an all-expense paid vacation by his own "Uncle Sam. " Welcome back, Dwight--we missed you. Mike Ford has asked if anyone has any extra water. He would like a few buckets-full until he can get his new well drilled. Things are pretty rough without water. Ruth Lee is wanting a few more pretty weekends at White Lake. Just tell her that she's is off on Friday and down the road she goes for the weekend. Mike Conrad is looking for a few extra "A's". He is going to need them now that he is returning to Appalachian for his senior year. Good luck, Mike. We hate to see you leave and we will miss you. Just ask Marie what happens at Myrtle Beach. Pat Eaker has been visiting in Canada. Betty Ann Lee enjoyed her vaca tion at Myrtle Beach and White Lake. Pat Howard also vacationed at Myrtle Beach. A son, Johnny Davis, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Cox on July 18, 1967. Mrs. Davis (Linda) is employed in the Pairing Department of Plant #7. Plant #9: It's hard to imagine Felix Webb going to the beach for a vacation and leaving that new grandbaby behind-- but, he did. Congratulations to Harold Kirby on coaching his church team to the winner's circle. Have you seen the large trophy they have ? As for vacations, some have. . . and some haven't. Becky Beddington, Selwyn Brown, Alta Murphy, Joreen Combs, Nancy Hankins and Margaret Morgan spent their vacations at the beach. . . David Stephens went to Atlanta; Elizabeth Thompson to Vir ginia; Rachel Cranford took a grand tour of the mountains, including the Shenandoah Valley. . .Carol Jones and Jeanette Sumner stayed at home and enjoyed every minute of it. . . and to those of us who still haven't, we're counting the days. We're wishing a speedy conva lescence to Alta Murphy who is out on leave of absence. We hope she will soon be feeling better and greeting us with her cheery smile. A son, Robert Lewis, was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Phillips on July 9, 1967. James is a supervisor in Plant #9. Main Office: This lovely bride is Mrs. Allen Griffith. Prior to her marriage on Sunday, July 23, at Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church, she was Sandra Street- man. She is employed in the Tabulat ing Department of the Main Office. 18 -
