OVER HEARD Plant #1: Everyone has missed Lula Dunn a great deal. Lula was hit by a car as she was crossing the street in front of the plant. She is improving and we hope she will soon be able to return to work. The employees in the Greige Goods Department surprised their supervisor, Sam Dale, with a birthday dinner re cently. Their gift to him was a watch. Watching Mr. Dale cut the cake was Beulah Tuttle and Emma Jean Cox. Plant #2: Did you see Rita Stanely and Page Phillips, both of the knitting de partment, in the Christmas parade ? They were there. Kathleen Chilton is a proud grandmother. Had you noticed? Nancy Thomas is sporting a new Plymouth. Also, she was sporting two black eyes for a couple of weeks-- slie was in an automobile accident. Surely is good to have Esther Simmons, of the finishing department, back. She has been a hospital patient recently. After completing his tour of duty in Viet Nam, Hazel Hill's grandson has been spending a few days with her. Ivlary Nunn has a new convertible and hopes spring will come early this year. Lillie Midkiff enjoyed visiting her son,Larry, at Fort Bragg where he is getting his basic training for the Army. We miss Oma Pack who has been out sick for some time. Helen Leonard wanted a clothes dryer for Christmas, but Brice sur prised her with one early--two posts with wire in between and out in the back yard. Helen says it's too cold to use it. Plant #3: Congratulations to Leonard Taylor, boarding department, who finally made it back to first shift. pairing department. . . Most of the pairing department is busy getting ready for the Christmas season. May we, in the midst of our gift buying and rushing about to various socia.1 events, stop a mom.ent and think about the true meaning of Christmas. . . We still have co-workers out on sick leave. Leva Mabe and Dorothy Booth have been out for quite a long while. We hope they will be back soon. Ruby Walker entered the hospital again for surgery. hope she is re covering satisfactorily. -10-
