Maggie Durham, Knitting Depart ment, has returned to her home where she is convalescing after a stay in the hospital. Pansy Hardin, Knitting Depart ment, is back at work after being struck by a car and hospitalized in Lumberton, N. C. It's good to know she's all mended again. Sorry we forgot to mention the fact that Elsie Siske has a new grandbaby-- it's her first, you know. Louise Burrow, Seaming Depart ment, is out on sick leave. Ina Blackwell, Elaine Hornady and Phyllis Jones have had bouts with flu--three in a row. Haven't heard of anyone taking a trip to the mountains yet. Could be because no one has time, working six days a week. But, looking out the boarding room windows, one can see that the scenery is mighty beautiful out there. Accompanying her daughter to the fair proved quite comical--or embar- rassing--according to Ruth Thomas. Ask her to tell you about it. Dorcas Thomas almost won on the Dialing For Dollars Movie. If you don't believe it, ask Doris Byrd. Willie Young took time off to go fishing, but he said it was too windy for much luck; however, he did catch a few. Blanche and Bill Leonard are proud of their new car. Speaking of Bill, did you see the crying towel he was presented when his team lost in the World Series ? Don't feel bad. Bill, it surprised us, too. Dot Maynard puts into words how we all feel about working so much over time; "I'm wearing out." Wonderwhat we'll do when we get a Saturday off. . . - 18 -
