LOUN6E. -L£T YOUR eo/roR IN ON /Tf Plant 1: Vickie Diane Jones and Roger Glenn Yountz were married on Satur day, December 14, at UnionGrove Bap tist Church. The Rev. Harold R. Fletcher officiated at the 6:00 p.m. ceremony. Vickie is employed in the seaming department of Plant 1. The bridegroom is now serving in the U. S. Army and is sta tioned at Fort Meade, Maryland. At tending the bridal couple were Tommy Beck and his wife, Brenda Faye, who is a sister of the bride. Except for a bit of flu here and there, everyone in the Greige Goods Department had a very good Christmas. Carmmie Hiatt enjoyed being with the children. Diann Holloman spent the holidays vnth her family in Ahoskie, N. C. Liorene Budd received a new sewing machine. Eddie Whitworth gave his wife a new bedroom suite and kitch en cabinet. Plant 2: Pairing Department Louise Jessup was a happy gal last week; she won $25. GO at a local super market. Virginia Nunn has returned after having been in the hospital. It's good to have her back. Lillian Dawson and her husband recently spent a week in Atlanta attend ing a jubilee. Jean Shaw is hospitalized. She is missed greatly. Finishing Department Christmas started for the finish ing department with a good dinner at the plant. Santa Claus was present with candy for everyone. Special guests were Bascome Loflin, Gaston Hodges, Oma Pack and Georgia Payne. Every one is most appreciative of the Christ mas gift and the vacation pay received from the company. Faith Hawks, her husband, their son and his family spent Christmas in Florida with their daughter and her family. Kathleen Chilton's son and his family, who live in Flint, Michigan, visited her during the holidays. Pauline Atkins also had company for Christmas. Her son and his family, from Newport News, Virginia, spent the holidays with her. It is hoped that all those out sick-- and there are several--will be well real soon and back on the job. Clellan Ramey has been very ill, but is now back on the job, we are happy to say. Helen Leonard has been out three weeks due to the illness and death of her father. Hope she can return soon. Seaming Department Put Myrtle Quessinberry and Iva Surratt on the proud new grandma list. Eva Combs and her son, Mike, had a wonderful holiday trip to Frankfurt, Germany, to visit Eva's mother and father. Welcome back to Opal Thomas. She has been out on maternity leave. Office The office crew at Plant 2 enjoyed a steak dinner at the Blu-Vue Restau rant during Christmas. -14- There are many things worse than working. For one thing, there's not working.
