for a year before coming to High Point to take a business course at Edwards Business College. She was first em ployed with Adams-Millis about 1938. Her husband, Robert F. Hiatt, was a full fashioned knitter with the company for many years; he is now employed as a carpenter and contractor. The Hiatts have two children. Robert F. Hiatt, Jr., lives on Meadow- lark Road in High Point and operates Hiatt's Used Car Lot. The other son, Billy Clyde Hiatt, resides on Route 1 and is employed by Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. There are five grand children. Rose's main interests are her church. The First Church of Christ where she is assistant teacher of the Loyal Women's Class, and her piano. She hopes to spend a great deal of time working with both. Pearl Bumgarner After almost twenty-five years of service with the Knit-Sox Division, Pearl Bumgarner retired in June on the basis of age. Upon her retire ment, her co-workers in the inspect ing department gave a dinner in her honor and presented her with luggage and other gifts. Pearl has spent her entire life in Catawba County; she lives in Hickory at 1138 Eighth Street, S. E., with her sister and her brother. She is a life long member of Bethlehem Church. She has looked forward to her retire ment because she enjoys sewing, gar dening and traveling and expects to have time for all of these activities now; however, she wants it make known that she enjoyed her years at Knit-Sox a great deal and that her friends there will always have a special place in her heart. *:^c5^c5}e5}e3}cs}c:^e^ Approximately 84 per cent of our fighting men in Vietnam are buying Savings Bonds regularly.
