Lk EDMOND.O^LAHOMA HlOH POINT-MT AIRY MALL One Ojanf Step *ADAMS-MILLIS Products m Adams-Millis Corporation's unique exhibit, planned and set up by Bascome Loflin of the main office, won first prize, the United Appeal Award, atMt. Airy's Autumn Leaves Festival last month. Approximately twenty industries in the Mt. Airy area set up displays for the weekend festivities. Using the man-on-the-moon theme, the Adams-Millis exhibit featured hosiery attractively display ed on racks against a background of the blue of space, with the earth in the distance as it appears from the moon. A miniature scale model of the Apollo 11, flanked by telescopes, completed the display. Manning the exhibit during the weekend were Vivian Mabry, Nancy Tilley, Marie Turner and Bonnie Childress, all of the Mt. Airy office. The third annual festival attract- edbetween 175, 000 and 200, 000 people during its two-day run. There were visitors from as far away as Japan and - 3 - Holland. Old costumes mingled with modern dress throughout the down town area as townspeople sought to carry out the "old timey" theme for the weekend. Other attractions in cluded a wagon train, the 1,200- member North Carolina Campers and Hikers Association, bands and sing ing groups, a fiddler's convention, wrestling, and airplane rides to give the visitors an aerial view of the au tumn leaves in the surrounding foot hills. From the standpoint of attend ance, this was the largest and most successful Autumn Leaves Festival to date.
