ADAMS MILLIS PRESENTED SEVENTH SEARS AWARD

For the seventh consecutive year, Adams-
Millis Hosiery Company has been awarded the
sars "Symbol of Excellence" plaque.
The plaque was presented to employees
^nd management of Adams-Millis Hosiery
ompany by Phil Kessler of Chicago, national
°°ys' hosiery buyer for Sears. Donald G.
Eindner, President of Adams-Millis Hosiery,
Accepted the plaque on behalf of the entire plant
staff.
The award was one of 394 Sears is
presenting this year to suppliers judged most
°«standing among its 13, 000 major merchan
dising sources. Adams-Millis is one of only
suppliers who have earned the award for the
®®ven consecutive years since the award pro
gram was begun.
"This award is based primarily on the
^cellence of merchandise produced by Adams-
Hlis Hosiery Company for Sears during the
Kessler S3,id, *’It also recognizes
e general excellence of Adams-Millis' per-
rrnance in such matters as shipping goods on
schedule, and initiative in developing new and
improved merchandise, " he added. "This
award is our salute to those suppliers who have,
through their excellence, made great contri
butions to Sears' reputation for quality merchan
dise. It also recognizes the contribution of each
employee to the superior performance of the
plant."
Kessler said Adams -Millis Hosiery
Company was selected for the Sears "Symbol of
Excellence" by a committee representing
the company's retail stores, catalog stores,
national service department, quality control
section and merchandise development and test
ing laboratory. The committee screened
nominations for Sears 49 national buying depart
ments.
Robert Boyles, Vice President of Pro
duction and Manufacturing of the Men's and
Boys' Division of Adams-Millis Hosiery, said,
"We are honored by this award. It was ac
complished through the efforts of each and
every employee in our plants. Our thanks go
to Sears for this recognition, and my personal
thanks go to our sales department for its splen
did efforts in obtaining the orders for our plants
and to everyone in our plants for the teamwork
in producing the quality goods and giving our
customers the service and delivery they expect
and deserve. " Boyles added, "We will add this
'Symbol of Excellence' to the six we already
have. When we reach the floor, we hope to
start another row. We are not resting on our
laurels; everyone of us knows we must continue
the same teamwork, we must deliver the same
quality goods and we must give the same per
formance if we continue to enjoy the fine business
with Sears, Roebuck and Company. "
The largest amount paid thus far this year
on a medical claim under our Group Insurance
Plan was in excess of $11, 000. 00. This claim
was for one illness for one person and repre
sented payment on hospital, drug and doctors'
charges for 35 days of hospitalization.
