Smith Retired employee of the Ladies' Hosiery Di vision, Adams-Millis Hosiery Company, High Point Mrs. Mamie Rawls Mother of Woodrow Rawls, Ladies' Hosiery Divi sion, Adams-Millis Hosiery Company, High Point EMPLOYEES TAKEN BY DEATH Following an illness of one week, Napoleon Bowie, of the coning department of A-M Textur ing and Dyeing, died January 23, 1974. He had been with Adams-Millis since July of 1973. Napoleon was born in Belton, S. C. , but had lived in the High Point-Kernersville area most of his life. He was a member of Kernersville's St. Paul United Methodist Church where he serv ed on the board of trustees and board of ushers and was a member of the United Methodist Men. He was also a member of Furniture City Elk Lodge 282. His wife, Edna Matthews Bowie, died in April of 1968. He made his home on Ashburn Street in High Point. Survivors include one son, Clifton Vernard Bowie of Winston-Salem, two grandchildren and his stepmother. Oscar A. Rudd, employee of Adams-Millis Hosiery Company's Ladies' Hosiery Division in High Point, died on January 6, 1974, following a brief illness. He had been employed in the greige goods department since July of 1970. Oscar was born in High Point where he attended school and graduated from William Penn High School in 1933. He was a member of Me morial United Methodist Church of High Point. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Rudd of the home, 602-A Saunders Place; his father, two sisters and one brother. SHUT OUT WASTE Close windows and doors and keep them closed. Turn off heatand close off rooms not being used. Check for leaks to the attic or garage. Use your fireplace sparingly because heat rushes right up the chimney. Be sure to close the fireplace damper when fireplace is not in use. People should be nice to people, we've got. . We're all
