7 - FOUR ASSUME NEW ASSIGNMENTS IN HOSIERY DIVISION ^ 1 McNAIR LINEBACK E. C, Tatum, plant manager of the J. Ed Lillis Finishing Plant in Kernersville, has Announced the promotions of Danny McNair, Millie Stack and Douglas Streetman, Danny McNair has assumed supervision of production control for the J. Ed Millis finishing plant of the Men's and Boys' Hosiery Division. Succeeds Carroll Line back who will be return- to the Mt. Airy plant where he will coordinate production of that plant with the production con trol department in Kernersville. McNair is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in textile tech- nology. Prior to coming to Adams-Millis, he ^as associated with Dan River Mills in Danville, ^a. He is married to the former Towa Varner Archdale; they have one child. The department of production control antici pates orders so that the shipments can be exped ited when the detailed orders have actually been I’eceived. The department also coordinates shipments with sales. Estimates furnished by salesmen are passed onto production control in Order thatmaterials can be ordered and knitting Orders can be issued. Carroll Lineback was employed asa super- I'isor in the knitting department of Granite Ho siery when that firm was acquired by Adams- Lillis in 1963. He later managed the production '^epartmentoftheMt. Airy plant, and transferred the Kernersville finishing plant soon after it t^as built. He has twenty-five years of exper ience in hosiery knitting and production control. Lineback married the former Josephine aton; they live in Mt. Airy and are the parents of four daughters and one son. Billie Stack has been named to succeed ^nke Jones as supervisor of box printing. Ms. tack worked in the looping and folding depart- ^ ents of the Adams-Millis plant before being tansferred to the job of printing machine opera- STACK STREETMAN tor. She resigned in 1965 to give full time to housekeeping, but returned to the new finishing plant inl968as a printing machine operator and as an assistant supervisor. The box printing department prints labels and boxes which are then forwarded to the fold ing department. From orders issued by produc tion control, boxes and labels are requisitioned from suppliers. Billie has worked for no other employer. She says in addition to her job, the most impor tant things to her are her family and her church. Her husband is a quality control inspector for a machine shop; they have a daughter, a son and a new daughter-in-law. They are members of Union Grove Baptist Church. Doug Streetman has beenassigned to succeed Bob Bates as supervisor of the shipping depart ment. Bates retired after 48 continuous years of service in the shipping departments of the High Point and Kernersville plants. Shortly after graduation from high school, Streetman started working in the order department getting up orders. He later moved to the shipping department where he worked in all phases of shipping. Doug stepped into busy shoes when he re placed Bob Bates. Shipments for the first quar ter of 1974 were the largest of any quarter in the history of the company, Streetman is married and has two children. His mother, Gladys Rogers, is employed in the duplicating department in High Point.
