AMCO NEWS--Adams - Mill! s Hosiery Company PLANT NEWS HIGH POINT PLANTS Men's and Boys' Division: Approximately thirty-five former loopers of Plant 1 enjoyed a covered-dish supper at the home of Nona Sink. Sam Dale, supervisor, was honor guest. The occasion was to renew friend ships and acquaintances. Looping, a process of closing toes on hose, was discontinued in the early 1960's when the process of seaming with a flat seam was developed. Polly Edmonds, sample department, help ed her daughter, Libby, move to Athens, Georgia where Libby is teaching school. Lassie Crotts went to Lake Junaluska as a representative from her church and visited beautiful Biltmore House while in the mountains. Ladies' Division: Kate McBride toured Florida on her vaca tion. Highlight of the trip was a visit to Disney World. Barbara Bottoms and family vacationed at Carolina Beach. MT. AIRY PLANT Mary Motsinger's home was broken into re cently. Taken from her home were two shot guns, a rifle, a clock and a radio. A caution to all to provide homes with all the security pos sible. Among those enjoying the beautiful fall mountain scenery were Elizabeth Bodenhamer and friends and Cornelia Brinkley and her hus band. Elizabeth spent a weekend in Wytheville, Va. and Bluefield, W. Va. The Brinkleys en joyed our state's first snowfall in Boone. November 5 was a special day for Frances Blue--her 18th wedding anniversary. Elizabeth May took her mother to Indiana recently to visit relatives. They were almost snowbound. The pairing department gave Gail Beeson a stork shower. We hope to have Delphine Black back at work soon after her surgery. KERNERSVILLE PLANTS It's good to see Randy Reddick back afwork after having knee surgery. Sally Key was really surprised with the red roses she received for her birthday. Welcome back to work Lena Bruner, Nancy Moore, and Ada Johnson who have been out on sick leave. Jean Williams and her family were among a church group who recently went to Savannah, Tennessee. Bertha Carlyle has moved into her new home where we wish her much happiness. Elfriede Lanier returned from the fair as the proud winner of two first-place ribbons that she won for knitting two sweaters. Dorothy Seiler joined a hunting group at Hoffman's Game Reserve. Yes, she carried a gun, a 12-guage shotgun. Keith Tucker is vocalist for the Dok Kaper Rock Group. The group is available for music for all occasions. (Phone 919/784-0185) HICKORY PLANT Congratulations to Nathan Blair whose daughter, Ida Louise, has received her Doctor of P h i lo s o p h y Degree in education from Penn sylvania State Univer sity. Nathan is em ployed in the shipping department. Ruth Robinette, of the knitting department, recently toured the New England States and Canada. Highlights of the trip were the Canadian Guards and the Niagara Falls. FayeLail recently visited relatives in Flor ida. Daisy Brown spent a nine-day vacation in Mexico. EDMOND, OKLAHOMA PLANT Employees of Plant 12 gave Joe Terpening a surprise party on his recent birthday. He received a beautiful lighter. Shirley Rieker, of the Inforex department, spent a week's vacation in West Virginia. Jeanne Boyd spent her two-week vacation touring the western states. It's good to have Norma Anderson, quality checker in the knitting department at Plant 19, and Jumpot Mangharatana, a fixer in the knit ting department, back on their jobs. Both have been out to have surgery. Congratulations to Plant Manager Charles Tuttle and his Louise who recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Tony Winton and his wife, Jan, have just moved into their new home, which they say is just perfect for them and their new son, Eric. Tony is superintendent of the knitting depart ment at Plant 19. Jerry Thompson and his wife, Patricia, spent a few days on the Gulf Coast recently and had a great time. Jerry is supervisor of second-shift knitting and Pat is in the finish ing department on Intech machines. Parker and Evelyn Winton spent a few days of vacation in Nebraska. They enjoyed renewing old acquaintances and reminiscing on their childhood days.
