The following organizational changes within the Information Services and Administrative Ser vices Departments were an nounced recently: C.D. Oakes, Vice Presi dent of Administrative Services, has been assigned the additional responsibility of Director of In formation Services. As such, he will have responsibility for all data processing functions within the company. Oakes will continue to report to Michael L. Ryan, Senior Vice President-- Administration and Human Resources. Bill K. Clodfelter is Manager of Programming reporting to Oakes. He will have overall responsibility for all programm ing activities within the depart ment. Libby B. Sluder is Assistant Programming Manager repor ting to Clodfelter. Roger A. Zimmerman is manager of Systems and Development. He will have jverall responsibility for all systems and development opera- ions within the Information Ser vices Department and will report to Oakes. Bill Newman has been pro moted to Database Ad-, ministrator for the database on the company’s new Nixdorf com puter. In his new assignment he reports to Oakes. Bill will be responsible for planning and coordination of the five corp>orate database activities-- organization, protection, efficien cy, maintenance and documenta tion. Carol A. Upton has been pro moted to Manager of Customer Services. Carol will have overall responsibility for processing customer orders as generated by Adams-Millis Sales Compary She will also have responsibility for the Traffic Department and reports to Oakes. B. Gail Tedder is Assistant Manager of Customer Service reporting to Ms. Upton. Several other employees at Adams-Millis Corporation recently have received promo tions. Within the Planning Department, Carroll E. Lineback has been named Planning Manager-Central Planning and reports to Roy R. Gaston, Direc tor of Planning. Carroll will be responsible for production plans, schedules and inventory at the finishing plants. Production Con trol Managers Joe Justice, Plant 3, Deborah Sprouse, Plant 6, and Bill Harmon, Plant 11 will report to Carroll. Cliff Brown will also report to Promotions Page 3 C.D. He will be handling production plans, schedules and inventory of Greige goods. Evelyn Gray has been pro moted to Customer Order Expeditor-Central Planning. She is responsible for tracking, ex pediting and maintaining the cur rent status of customer orders through the finishing plants. Evelyn reports to Gaster. Rebecca Lewis, Planning Coor dinator-Central Planning, is the lead order clerk. She is responsible for preparation of work orders, inventory records for pack and hold and revolving stock, and maintenance of plann ing reports. She reports to Gaster, also. Other promotions include Jim my Carrick, Knitting Supervisor for the third shift at Plant 1 in High Point. He reports to Gary Swain, Plant Manager. Jimmy had been a fixer at Plant 1 since he joined the company in 1983. Steven Hodges has been pro moted from Dye Machine Operator to Second Shift Super visor for the Dyehouse at Plant 11 in Mount Airy. He reports to Wade Felts, Dyehouse and Greige Goods Manager. Steven is to supervise and to insure that production needs are met. He has been with the company for two years. Oleeta Chilton has been named Lead Data Entry Operator at Plant 11 in Mount Airy, reporting to Phil Thorpe, Operations Sara Hamrick has been pro moted to Scanner Operator for Information Services. She reports to Gerry Bailey, Data Preparation Supervisor. Sara has In Memoriam Helen Inez Perry, 39, a seven- year employee of Adams-Millis Plant 8, Franklinton, died July 19 following a short illness. A Franklinton native, she was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Kittrell. She is survived by her husband Joseph Perry Jr., seven children, mother, four sisters, one brother and one granddaughter. Many of her Adams-Millis co workers served as floral bearers at her funeral service. Her responsibilities in clude assigning work, maintain ing the work flow of all data to be keyed, and transmitting and receiving data from High Point. Oleeta has been employed since 1980. been a Data Entry Operator since her employment in 1978. Judy Stone has been named Plant Stylist for Plant 1 in High Mae Nelson has been named Lead Data Entry Operator at Plant 3 in Kernersville. Mae’s new position involves transmit ting and receiving data from High Point assigning work and maintaining the flow of keying data at Plant 3. She also reports to Thorpe. Point. She reports to Gary Swain, Plant Manager, and is responsi ble for running all samples and costs on new styles. Judy has nine years of service with the com pany. Kathy Rutherford has been promoted to Data Entry Operator in the Longfold Department at Plant 3 in Kernersville. She is responsible for keying informa tion from OCR tickets, sending jgoods to flow lanes and spotting incorrect information before it goes through. We congratulate all these employees on their promotions.
