To Elma Hiatt and family we
wish to extend oui’ deepest sym
pathy in the recent death of their
loved one, little William Allen Ed
wards. Elma wishes to express her
appreciation for the beautiful
flowers and the many expressions
of sympathy offered the family
following the recent death of her
grandson.
We were all glad to see Mabel
Sorrell and Elizabeth Rogers back
at work after being out sick for a
week. Also are glad to know that
Mabel’s little boy, Stevie, is well
again, and that Mary Brown’s
little girl, Susie, is out again.
Congratulations to Mary and
Jesse Bro'Wn and daughter, Susie.
They have moved into their new
home on McCain Place.
Ruby Greene was presented with
a shower recently and received
many beautiful gifts.
We welcome the following new
employees: Jackie Boles, Clara
Ruth, Bobby Smith, and we’re glad
to have Anna Harrison, Alma
Peele,, and Margaret Overby with
us again.
Congratulations to Lloyd Hedge-
cock and family. They will soon
move into their new home on Clo
ver Drive.
Carl Tuttle from the finishing
room is a member of the Melody
Harmoneers quartet which sings
over WMFR every Tuesday night
at 7:30 with the exception of the
first Tuesday in each month. The
Harmoneers will appear in person
at Trinity High School tonight.
Ruth Samuels’s father, J. E.
Burgess, had a light stroke and
heart attack while at work and is
now confined to his home near
Flint Hill.

week-end visiting a new nephew
in Francisco.
We wish to express our sym
pathy to Vera Tuttle in the death
of her brother-in-law in Florida.
We certainly miss Frances Rus
sell who has gone to Alaska to be
with her husband who is in service.
We are sorry to report that
Marie Wray’s father is in High
Point Memorial Hospital with a
kidney stone.
Georgia Payton and husband
took a pleasure trip to Roaring
Gap and Blowing Rock.
Janie Sheetz had relatives from
Florida and Texts as visitors over
the week-end.
Julia Jones’s brother is home
from Korea to stay. We know she
is happy.
We are sorry to hear that Edna
Patterson’s mother-in-law is in
High Point Memorial Hospital
with a heart attack, and hope that
she will be better soon.
Viola Draper reports that she
had a very good time on a recent
trip to the Carolina coast.
Ella Allen and sister-in-law
made a trip to San Antonio, Texas
and Mexico. They got back Octo
ber 18.
Margaret Davis spent a week
end recently in Petersburg, Ya.
We wish to welcome Lucille Ris
ing, a newcomer to our depart
ment, and hope her stay here will
be a long and happy one.

and Mrs. Albert Meadows spent
the week-end in Charlotte visiting
Mrs. Meadows’s mother.
Lucy Garrett atended the church
wedding of her nephew, Jake Fra
ley, in Albemarle.
Edith Tysinger is out with a
severely burned left hand. She
turned hot grease over on it. We
are hoping that it will get well
rapidly and that she will be with
us again soon.
Mazie Lyles spent a week-end
with her son and mother in Gal-
ivant’s Ferry, S. C.

Nancy Yoi-k has left us to go to
work in Thomasville.
Anne Saintsing’s son, Max, who
is with the Air Force, is now sta
tioned in France.
Betty Johnston’s grandfather,
Frank Hoover, who was 92 years
of age, died at his home in Rob
bins. Our sincere sympathy goes
to Betty and her family.
Ethel Wise surprised her son,
Brunell, with a birthday party at
Bordeii’s on his 10th birthday re
cently.
Lola Smith’s son, James, is now
in Japan, while Maurice is at the
Naval A i r Base in Jacksonville,
Fla. Donald has just finished his
basic at San Diego, Calif., and is
now at Bainbridge, Md.
Helen Jones and family spent a
recent week-end at Wake Forest.
Ludie Mae Ingram’s husband.
Jay, has been ill for a few days
but is better now and has returned
to work.
John and “Jo” Kendrick would
