Grace Rumsey and family went to Commerce, Ga., over the week end. She reports having a real good time. Mabel Slate’s brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dob son, and Pat visited her from Winston-Salem last week-end. Irene York took dinner at the City Lake last week-end. She also rode the big boat out there. We are glad to have Betty Per due back after being out ill. Joyce Koontz is a neiwoomer to High Point. She and her family jusit moved here from Lexington. Judy Hendren visited Carolina Beach over the week end. Lucille Cromer went to Mocks- | ville last week end visiting rela tives. Josephine Hardy’s son, Sgt. Harvey Wall, is home from Korea on leave. Minnie Snow’s sister was mar ried at Minnie’s home on Friday, Aug’ust 6. Wilma Dennis has been attend ing w)-estling regularly these days, but that isn’t exciting enough for Wilma. She has to stop off at a nearby carnival and rids hobby horses and eat cotton candy. She also went on TV with the Cub Scouts on the program “Sixgun Playhouse.” Our sympathy goes out to Ar thur Royals whose mother died August 8. Our sympaithy also to Ruby Ty- singer. Her father, W. G. New- birthday, August 2. There were six of Eddie’s friends present. Ice cream and oake were the refresh ments. Edith Stanley now has a new niece. A daughter, Gloria Gwynn, was born July 27 to Edith’s broth er and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Richard. Mamie Garner is a grandmother for the third time. Jackie Shaw and daughter, Mona Cil, spent last Sunday visit ing with Edna Suits and her family.
