Changes Made In Hudson Parking TO MY FELLOW WORKERS: Another enjoyable, company- wide picnic has passed into history. But I am confident its flavor will remain with many of us far into (he future. Throughout the working year our days are so devoted to the job in hand there is all too little time for the pleasantries and neighbor liness which help round out our happiness in life. So, as I remarked during the after-supper program, ‘^there is no occasion of the year more significant than our annual get-together. It is one time when in relaxation and fellowship we can make new contacts, refresh former acquaintanceships and re new friendships that the passage of time has interrupted. Such an event has its special meaning to each of us. For me our August picnic had two meanings. First, it was an occasion by which Anvil Brand could express in some small degree its apprecia tion for the part which all mem bers of the organization have played in our business develop ment. Such a gathering, as in the past, provides the opportunity to acknowledge the many evidences of loyal co-operation between in dividuals and departments. And 1 always welcome such a means of personally talking with you and declaring my pleasure and pride in being part of an organization which, through individual and col lective achievements, has gained widespread reputation not only for the products it manufactures, but as a good place to work. Coke Cecil, the magician. Even Production Manager Jack Rives, on the front row of the amphitheater, sat with his mouth open and eyes popping in amazement at the mystery man’s dexterity. Many are still wondering if the magic spell caster and Supt. H. T. Short were in “cohoots.” If not, just how did Cecil manage to cut the superintendent’s tie in several pieces and put it back together again ? And how did Cecil get Short’s watch and his pocketbook — out of which the magician of fered to pay Short for his assist ance ? Ossie Wright and her son-in- law, Lee Wade, also made good assistants during the magic show, helping to keep the audience in (Continued on Page Two) Hudson workers are being asked to please use only their own park ing spaces in the parking lots. A lot of confusion is being caused by persons not doing so. If you have not been assigned a parking space and need one you should contact the personnel office. There is to be no more parking in the fenced in lot adjacent to the shipping room’s loading plat form because so inany different trucks, including Anvil Brand’s own vehicles, must use this lot in loading and unloading mei'chan- dise. A new parking lot has been created under the water tank at the Hudson plant, with the en- ti-ance through the alley between the main plant and the cafe.
