SEPTEMBER ISSUE SEW IT SEAMS Page Nine Judy Hendren Named “Sew It Seams” When Anvil Brand first started a company paper 10 years ago (at that time the company was known as High Point Overall), the editor of the paper asked employees to submit names for the new -publication. A prize of $10 was offered for the winning name and many entries came in from employees. A panel of judges was selected to pick the winning name and when the many entries were considered Judy Hendren’s “Sew It Seams” was the winner. “I couldn’t have been more surprised,” saiid Judy. “I be- .>lieve that name just came to me on the spur of the moment and I believe it was the only name I entered.” However, officials of the company said they were quite pleased with the judges’ selection and the name always causes comment from persons reading the paper for the first time. Judy now is a supervisor in Dungaree and has worked with the company a total of 20 years. She 'had to leave for three months in 1943 after her father’s death. Her husband, Howard Leonard Hendren, is a district su pervisor of circulation for the Greensboro Daily News and they make their home in Jamestown.
