Annie Hughes Is Honoree Annie Hughes’ co-workers ar ranged a dinner for her recently after her transfer from Sport Shirt to Shipping, with an orchid corsage and a gift surprise for her. After Coleen Stanley presented her with the gifts Phyllis Hob son pinned on the corsage and then everyone joined in the de licious luncheon that was brought in. Annie has had almost 15 years with Anvil Brand; her last time with the plant now totals about 10. She has worked in Pants and Sport Shirt and served as a training supervisor in both de partments. Her job in Shipping is final checking. The Hughes live at 1808 Guyer Street and have one daughter, Patricia, who is in the 10th grade at Jamestown High School and is a majorette with the school band. Joyce Chadwick is going to visit her little daughter in Kinston this weekend. . . Margaret Armfield says she sure will be glad to get into their new home and we’ll be glad for her. Hope she invites me down for lunch one day. Wanted: one parking space for Phyllis Hobson’s husband’s car. Should be large enough so there will be no dented fenders, etc. Elsie Lester said all the news she had was that she was thank ful she got all her painting done. She started three months ago and painted seven rooms and two halls. More power to you, Elsie. Sorry to hear about Carmen Jenning’s son, Ray, being struck by a car.
