Mildred Owens spent the week end in Norfolk recently. Said she THE NEW LINE — Four more sketches of new garments in Anvil-Tractor Brand line for next season are shown here. Modeling these garments were Miss Marlene Suggs and Mrs. Nancy Potts, both of Sales Office; John Ander son in Advertising did the art work. At left the model is wearing slimmerees which features pointed extended waistband with two buttons, frontier pocket and tapered leg. Second model is wearing regular misses’ shorts with narrow waistband, change pocket and cuffs with two button tab. The shirt is a dazzle print with Peter Pan col lar with under collar of solid color and armhole bound with body fabric. The third sketch shows the misses and kiddies’ pedal pushers. The misses’ garment is made skirt length, has narrow waistband and contrasting circus stripe cuffs. The sleeveless shirt is of the circus stripe to match the pedal pusher cuffs. The kiddies’ garment is al most a duplicate, of the misses’ pedal pushers. At right the model is wearing Misses’ Bermuda Shorts with point ed extended waistband with two buttons, adjustable buckle strap across back and front zipper. Her shirt has Ivy League collar, straight narrow cuff with pointed ex tension. Marlene has been with Anvil Brand two years and lives on Route Three, Thomasville. Nancy has been with the company six years and lives at 503 S. Main St. attended an all-night singing . . . Mable Flynt visited relatives in Walnut Cove . . . Betty Bell and Ludie Mae Ingram would like to thank all the girls in Utility for the lovely gifts and flowers they received for their birthday and say they hope Santa will be real good to each of you. Ola Moran says she hasn’t done anything except go to the country and kill hogs. Ola, you could have brought us a hunk of ham. Geraldine Baird spent a few days with her mother in Kings port, Tenn. . . . Joyce Chadwich ►/ has a few rabbit traps set. But all she can catch is o’possums. Joyce says she is keeping them for Bill Lehman. Bill, we didn’t know you ate such things. Emma Charles really let us down this time. Says '.she hasn’t done a thing (except feed her hound dog.) Children, like canoes, are more easily controlled if paddled from the rear. One of woman’s greatest as sets is a man’s imagination. I NANCY POTTS SPORT SHIRT (Continued from Page Seven) els is all smiles. She won a fruit cake at the Industrial Manage ment Club . . . Jetty Haye’s daughter, Lena, went to Calif, to stay with her husband who is stationed there with the Air Force. We’ve lost count . . . how many world crises are going on now? To sleep and not worry is good advice, but difficult to follow. It has been said that no woman makes a fool of a man . . . she merely directs the performance.
