The Eagle’s encounter with our arch-rival, the Aggies is always a much anticipated event. Fans packed the gym to capacity to watch the tilt off. A&Ts Cher ry got the first two points of the game. The Eagles never seemed upset or disturbed over the ball-hawking tactics of the Aggies and gave them “a fight to the finish.” NCC held the lead throughout the first half and really gave the Aggies a “scare,” carrying a 10-point lead into the dressing room at half-time. During the second half, the Eagles jumped off to a fast break and retained the lead during most of the sec ond half. Once, the score was tied 54-54, but the Eagles “just kept right on scoring.” Ronald McCrimmon, dubbed during the Morgan game as “backcourt wdzard,” brought the fans to their feet on several occasions. NCC’s own Dennis Robinson ran into foul trouble and had to leave the game during its final eight minutes of play with two minutes to go in the final half. The Aggies maneuvered the game in their favor, scoring first two free throws and then a field goal. The Aggies hit two final points, ending the game by a one-point lead, 65-64.
