The polls open at 8 Wednes day morning in the Alfonso Elder Student Union on west campus. A heavy turn out of Central’s 5000 stu dents is expected. Over 80 students are running for of fices in North Carolina Cen tral’s annual student elec tions. Running for the office of President of the Student Government Association are Ervin Arnell Baker, Antonio Davila, Audwin E. Jones, and Carlton 0‘Neal. Campaigning for the of fice of Vice-President of the SGA are Quinton Brown, Neal Bailey Harper, Lynn E. Graham, Delaney M. Wil son, and Stephen Wingate. The eight ladies cam paigning for the .office of Miss NCCU include Edith Allen, Donna Crowder, Lor- rie Dockery, Tara Freese, Sheryl D. Massey, Sabrina Patterson, Cathy Price and Sharon K. Isley. Only one student is seek ing the highly admired and envied office of Editor-in- Chief of THE CAMPUS ECHO, and she is Teresa Burke. This is the first time in over ten years that a male has not sought the office of Editor. Two juniors are running for the office of Editor-in- Chief of the Eagle Year book. They are Orlando Neal and Phyllis Steadman. Only one student, Micheal L. King is seeking the office of Editor-in-Chief of EX UMBRA, NCCU’s literary By Juella McQueen Echo Staff Writer magazine. There is little competition for Senior Class offices as only one person is running for most of the offices. Wil lie E. Reese, III is running unopposed for Senior Class President. Also running unopposed are James Earl Mills for Vice-President; Shelia Bazemore for Secre tary and Gerald Price for Treasurer. The four ladies running for Miss Senior in clude Emma Deese, Dekota Grier, Linda Hill and Pam ela Seabrook. Campaigning for Senior congress are Ber nice Jeffreys, Rose Barlow, Clevie D. Brandon, Phila- thea Dixon, Cornell Jones, Calvin Kearns, Ervin Kea ton, Ellen Hector, Deborah Nance, Hazel Watson and Clara M. Winbprne. Running for Junior Class President are Curtis Brown, Kerry Johnson, Cheryl D. King, and Curtis Massey. Three students are run ning for Vice-President and they are Karen D. Lang ford, Jacky R. McClarin and Richard Owens. No one is running for the office of Sec retary and only one stu dent, Richard Smith is seek ing the office of Treasurer. The seven ladies running for Miss Junior are Gwendolyn Ellis, Wanda Hyatt, Lisa Nelson, Joyce S. Portee, Sa die Riggins, Ardicha Swan son and Rosa Simpson. Four students are running for President of the Sopho more Class and they are Darryl T. Banks, Eljovonia Chapman, Duane Howell and Ladiner Rhett. Seeking the office of Vice-President are Brenda Baldwin and Leon Rouson. Two stu dents, Sandra Staton, and Patrick Langston are run ning for secretary. Rodney Basnight and Cynthia B. Jordan are running for Treasurer. The four stu dents seeking election to the Sophomore class con gress are Rovin Massey , Nlta Nance, Orlando Sample, and Charles V. Williams.
