Vacation-time has found many peo ple in various directions. Misses (’arolyn Cook and Gretchen Kendall had a wonderful trip (according to their sayings) to New York City and spent almost whole period of vacation there. Miss Gloria Faye Collins, “voice” of Tuedical record library and through whom the line is switched and telephone is answered in a clear and impressive voice, spent her ]iart- vacation at Myrtle Beach and cauu^ back with a pretty good tan. While ])eople are away and having a nice time. Miss Bai’bara Smith had to have a rather different experieiu'e—a trij) to 0. R. for appendectomy. After all, no mat ter what kind of trip they had was, we are hapi)y to have all back in an excellent health. Congratulation to Mrs. Dorothy Rhew, our IBM supervisor, for her s])ee(ly convalescence from illne.ss after several days’ absence. Her com ing back is ap])reciated j)articularly in this time re(iu(‘sts for records used in resear(!h are increasing. Really ti'ue that one is much easier to get sick in the unsettled season like these days, however, I don’t believe that it is because of this reason that our 1P)M machine has had a check-\i]) re cently. We are ((uite hapi>y that it has been found O.K. after slight ad justment by an IBM engineer and its mecltanical and rhythmical noises are continuing, though sometimes nuiking I)eople feel nervous. —By ShilL-CliiiKj Huang.
