Kay Monta gue left in March to accept a position with the Duke Endowment Commit tee of Educational Institutions. Henry Bertrand left the first of April to assume managership of a Wilson, N. C. clinic. Surgery Dr. Robert Keppel has completed his training and gone into private practice in Hickory, N. C. Medical Records Welcome to two new employees, Anita Mitchell and Betsy Sellers. Lena Mae Ellis, Admissions Unit clerk, is recuperating from an ap pendectomy. Physical Therapy The Physical Therapy Department was gratified to receive a grant of $25,027 from the National Founda tion to continue its research in inter disciplinary teaching, research and patient care. This grant will permit expansion of the present program which has been carried on with the Departments of Neurology and Pedia trics. Bill Schmidt, who was on the staff last summer, is again working part time. In April Em Villanueva—a 1959 graduate of the Duke University Program in Physical Therapy—will join us after working a year and a half in Puerto Rico. The department participated again this year in N. C. Physical Therapy W’^eek. Students interested in learn ing more about the profession at tended an all day session on March 22, Physical Therapy Day at Duke. On the 20th, department students ap peared on the Peggy Mann TV Show to talk about physical therapy. Duke Hospital Durham, N. C.
