KEEPING IN TOUCH (Continued from page 7) • NOTES OF INTEREST . . . Mrs. Grace Horton, clinic supervisor in Physical Therapy, has returned from a vacation to Mexico and El Paso, Texas. . . . Judy Poe spent part of Christmas vacation in New Orleans. ... On De cember 7 a daughter, Valarie Ruth, was born to Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Toren, Jr. Mrs. Toren was formerly a laboratory tech nician in the Department of Immunology. . . . Mrs. Bertha Kent, Dr. Callaway’s secretary, spent Christmas with her daughter, Beth Major, in Cocoa, Florida. Beth was formerly a technician here and her husband is an engineer in the NASA program. Mrs. Kent enjoyed her grandson’s first Christmas and also the launch ing of Gemini 6. • WEDDINGS . . . Mrs. Mary Ruth Chambers, cashier in SPDC, and Edward Lloyd of Durham were married on January 8 in Dillon, S. C. Her daughter, Bonnie G. Chambers, was married to Thomas Vincent Sanseverina on December 26 at Mt. Bethel Presbyterian Church in Durham. On December 26 Frederick Lucien Callaway, son of Dr. and Mrs. J. Lamar Callaway, was married to Theda Apperson of Durham. Linda Blackwell, a dietetic intern, and Thomas Jermyn w'ere married on December 23. Nancy McLeod, secretary in Neurology, was married on Feb ruary 6 to Maurice Tedrick and they are living in Maryland. Kathy Westbrook, secretary in Medical Records, and Tommy Connelly Ayscue were married on February 6. • SORRY TO LOSE . . . Mrs. Libby Marsh, Dr. W. B. Obrist’s technician, who has moved to Raleigh; Mrs. Alsie Laws and Mrs. Naomi Kollock, LPN’s who have left the Clinical Research Unit; Julie McDonald, secre tary in the Printing Department since 1962, who has left to con tinue her education in music at UNC-G; Jo Abernathy, P. T., who has joined the staff of the Stanford University Medical Center; Mrs. Carrie Herndon, LPN in Urology clinic, who is now at VA Hospital; James Graham, technician for Dr. Madison Spaeh; Dr. Abdul-Aziz Asadi, fellow in Pediatric Endocrinology. Also Mark Howze, Medical Arts and Illustrations, who has left to join the Medical Illustration Department at Medical College of S. C.; Laura Ballard, research technician who worked for Dr. Ivan Brown; Betty Sue O’Neal, Urology, who has left to continue her education in Georgia; Lewis Walters who has resigned as fore man of the Surgical Electronics Shop; Lector Bailey, staff nurse in Blood Bank, who has moved with her family to Knoxville, Ten nessee ; Carolyn Hamilton, Medical Record Library, who has moved to Griffin, Georgia; Peggy Bullock, clerk-typist in the Bell Build ing, who recently resigned to accept another position. • CONDOLENCES . . . We extend our sympathy to Mrs. Linda Whitley, secretary in Physical Tlierapy, upon the death of her father-in-law. Cool Construction The new Main Entrance Building was recently christened with its first snow. And, as the construction men shown above will testify, ‘It was plen’y cool.’ The building is expected to be completed by the winter of 1966.
