Miss Bernice Belue, director of Oc
cupational Therapy at Duke since the
summer of 1961, has accepted a posi
tion at the University of Alabama
Medical Center as an occupational
therapy supervisor in the Spain Re
habilitation Center. She will assume
her new position in Birmingham in
April. The “in-between” months will
be spent in travel. The first two
weeks of December she spent in Aspen,
Colorado, skiing.
After the first of the year she will
go abroad for three months, flying
first to Grindellwald, Switzerland (in
the section of the Alps known as the
Bernese-Oberlen), for several more
weeks of skiing. Most of her travel
ing will be done in Germany and
Switzerland, where in addition to
“touring” Miss Belue plans to visit
some of the well known treatment
centers that interest her profession
ally.

Virginia A. Blalock as a new appointment secretary and recep
tionist in the Private Eye Clinic. Mrs. Rosemary Bergstrom from
Chicago as a new secretary in Pathology. Her husband, Robert
Bergstrom is a graduate student at Duke. Miss Cindy Ashworth
who has joined the compensation and liability office force in Sur
gical PDC. Mrs. Dorothy Werner who is employed in the recep
tion area in Medical PDC. Mrs. Werner replaces Mrs. Jane Reid
who transferred to Medical OPC. Mrs. Linda Grinstead as the
new receptionist in the office of Dr. W. Banks Anderson, Sr. and
Dr. W. Banks Anderson, Jr. in Ophthalmology. She replaces Mrs.
Patricia L. Hopkins who has resigned.
We are pleased to have three new persons who have joined the
filing division of the Medical Record Library: Ann Sanders,
Donna Davie and Corrnia Ashely. Mrs. Rachel Salter who is a
new secretary in the Child Guidance Clinic. Mrs. Ellen Wiggins
as an aide to assist the Occupational Therapy Department. Mrs.
Sheila Barnish as a visiting physical therapy trainee from Man
chester, England. Mrs. Patsy Davis who is the new supervisor in
the Outpatient Department business office. Mrs. Jane R«ed as
the new supervisor in the OPD registration area. Barbara Ryals
who is Dr. Tindall’s new secretary in the Division of Dermatology.
Barbara, whose father is in the Air Force, has lived all over the
world; and we are glad she has settled in Durham with us. Ruth
Meyers as a technician trainee in the Allergy Lab. Elizabeth
Russell who is a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Occupa
tional Therapy as a new member of our occupational therapy staff.

who is a part-time secretary in the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic.
In Dietetics we welcome several new members to the staff:
Paulette Craven, clerk-typist; Mrs. Alice JoAnn Graham, part-
time Dietitian; Mrs. Betty Green and Mrs. Flora Williams, super
visors; and three new employees to the tray unit, Mrs. Mary
Raines, Mrs. Elsie Evans and Mrs. Helen Bryant. A special wel
come is extended to the 45 new R.N.’s who have joined our staff
this fall.

Mrs. Renee Lawson transfers to Medical OPD Lab from Sur
gical PDC. Margeret Perry and Janie Evans have moved from
janitors w'est to the Clinical Microbiology glassware room as dish
washers. Mrs. Carol3m Foust who was with the Hospital Per
sonnel Office has transferred to Surgery as a technician trainee.
Mrs. Jill Lunsford who was in the Department of Psychiatry is
now working as secretary for the Graduate Program in Hospital
Administration. Mrs. Anne Hinsdale has transferred to Compen
sation and Liability Office from Surgical PDC. Mrs. Jacquelyn
Blalock, formerly secretary in the Nursing Office, is transferring
to be secretary to Dr. David T. Smith in Microbiology. She is
replacing Mrs. Barbara Burch who has left to have a baby.
