(photo by Jim Wallace) 53 Graduating Students Get Duke Nursing Pins Fifty-three School of Nursing grad uating seniors received their school pins signifying entrance into the nursing pro fession at special ceremonies June I. The exercises were held in connection with University commencement activities May 31-June 2. Dr. Myrtle Irene Brown, dean of the School of Nursing, presented Duke pins to the graduates at the Duke Chapel program. Mrs. Janet Baker Craig, a graduate of the master of science in nursing program at Duke and a former instructor at the school, was the main speaker at the pin ning ceremony. Dean Brown, along with Mrs. Betty Bunn, president of the Nursing Alumnae Association, announced class awards. In behalf of the Class of 1969, Miss Carol Gelling, its president, presented a gift to the Harriet Carter Memorial lec tureship fund. Graduating from the school with a B.S. degree in Nursing were Nancy Susan Abshire, Beverly Anne Bittner, Judith Womack Blanton, Mary Elizabeth Brow nell, Henrietta Katherine Burwell, Jean M^n Butler, Pamela McQueary deVito, Carol Heape Evans, Billie Joanne Gadd, and Karen Maureen Gallagher. Also, Carol Gelling, Pamela Roberts Gross, Mary Lucile Gustafson, Rebecca Reynolds Hackett, Jane McClung Hagg- strom, Suzanne Kay Hall, Sandra Lynn Hammar, Marjorie Anne Harris, Susan Gray Hendrix, Susan Scott Hoefflinger, Nancy Meyer Holloway, Christina Moye Johns, Lucy Hendrick Kernodle, and Ruthanne Lamason.
