INTERCOMMENTS around the hospital Anatomy Mrs. Elaine Spalding, formerly with the Department of Psychiatry, has taken Mrs. Kathy Whittier's position as adminis trative secretary to Dr. J. David Robert son in the Department of Anatomy. Mrs. Whittier and her husband Rob have moved to Nairobi, Kenya, where Mr. Whittier will be in charge of a Rockefeller Foundation project to organize the li-- brary at the University of Kenya .... Carlos Doggenweiler, visiting lecturer in anatomy since September, 1968, will return to his native Chile in March as an assistant professor of histology and direc tor of the Cell Ultrastructure Unit of the newly created Institute of Biology at the Universidad Catolica de Chile .... Anthony Limbrick, formerly a research fellow with the Department of Biochem istry at the University of Birmingham in England, has joined the department as a research associate investigating biological membrane structure by physical tech niques .... Avery Dickinson, a graduate student in the department, was granted her Ph. D. recently. Her dissertation involved the morphological and auto radiographic studies of helices in the nucleus* of Amoeba proteus Biochemistry Mr. and Mrs. Joe Polacco are the pa rents of a baby girl, Laura Carminda, born January 19 .... C. as administrative assistant Campbell ward Mrs. Juanita Jacobs, who gave birth to a baby boy named Aaron in December, is back from maternity leave .... Doris Self is a new L. P. N. on the ward. She was formerly on Welch ward .... new R. N.'s are Laura Bostian and Karen Bell .... Mrs. Freddia Prince is now working as a PCA on the ward .... Emma McNeil and Marsha Enright have resigned .... Miss Linda Moore, former research technician in Dr. Amos' lab, was married Jamary 31 .... Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Southworth announce the birth of a daughter, Kristen Joy, on December 30. N. from Jackson ville, Florida Medical P. D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Murray of Hills borough announce the engagement of their daughter Theresa to James Lemuel Bartlett of Goldsboro. A March 7 wed ding is planned in Duke Chapel .... Miss Wanda Wilson is engaged to David Lesater of Durham. The wedding will be in April .... Mrs. Suzanne Fedderspill will replace Mrs. Margaret Cocowich at the Medical P. D. C. Annex. Mrs. Coco wich is leaving because of family commit ments due to the recent loss of a brother ....
