Chowan Intern Earns National Secretary Prize A secretarial intern at the Medical Center has been named recipient of the seventh annual Florence Manning Secretarial Science Award for oustdnding achievement from Alpha Pi Epsilon, her profession's honorary society. Miss Susan M. Clark, who is just completing her year of internship at Duke after taking Chowan College's two-year medical secretarial program, received $100 as winner of the national competition. Miss Clark, 20, was president of the Alpha Pi chapter of the society while she was at Chowan. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Clark of Churchville, Pennsylvania, she plans to return to the Philadelphia area after she finishes her internship.
