(photo courtesy of the Night Owl Club) William G. Hancock, a native of Charlotte and a graduate of the Duke School of Law, has been named assistant director of development for health affairs at Duke. He will be responsible for directing the promotion of corporate, foundation, and individual financial support for Duke Medical Center's capital fund-raising programs, including those of the Schools of Medicine and Nursing and Duke Hos pital. Mr. Hancock will work closely with Dr. William G. Aniyan, vice president for health affairs, and Roger Thaler, associate director of the University's Office of Development. A graduate of Myers Park High School in Charlotte, Mr. Hancock, 27, earned an A.B. degree in history at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1965. He received his J.D. degree from the Duke School of Law in 1968. Prior to assuming the development post, he was associated with the law firm of Patterson, Belknap and Webb in New York City.
