At 8:30 this morning it reported for its annual, two-day checkup. Through today and part of Saturday, a panel of 16 professionals will give it a close examination to see what kind of health it’s in; to find out what it's been doing over the past year to keep in shape; and to talk with the patient about its conditioning program for the coming year. This annual "physical" is voluntary, and Duke puts high value on the professional recommendations coming out of it. MARKEE HONORED-Dr. Joseph E. Markee, in the portrait above, received the Raster Award posthumously from the Council on Medical Television this week’ in Los Angeles. Holding the award in this photo is Sam A. Agnello, director of Duke's division of audiovisual education and secretary of the 800-member council, who accepted the award. Dr. Markee, a pioneer in the use of audiovisual materials in medical education, was James B. Duke Professor of Anatomy here until his death last November. This is only the third time the Raster Award has been presented in the 13-year history of the council, (photo by Lewis Parrish) The group meeting here today and tomorrow is the Medical Center's Board of Visitors, made up of representatives from the fields of private industry and finance, medicine, nursing and education.
