2 Professional HA Students Begin 2-Year Program News Elected Dr. William G. Aniyan, vice president for health affairs, is the new chairman of the Board of Regents of the National Library of Medicine. The board, members of which are appointed by the President of the United States, elected Dr. Aniyan to the chairmanship last week. He was named to the board in 1968 by President Lyndon Johnson. Gives Papers Dr. Joseph A. C. Wadsworth, chairman of the Ophthalmology Department, gave a paper on "Forward Shift of the Vitreous and Its Treatment" at a symposium on cataract of the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology in Bogata, Columbia. Dr. Wadsworth presented a paper on "Fibrous Xanthoma" at a joint meeting of the Verhoeff Society (U.S.A.) and the European Pathology Society in London. There are only 72 members of the Verhoeff Society. Elected C. Edward McCauley, associate director of the Hospital, has been elected to a three-year term as a member of the board of trustees of North Carolina Hospital Association. The election was held June 10 at the association's annual meeting in Asheville. Richard Peck, assistant Hospital director, also attended the session as a Duke representative. At Meeting Mrs. Evelyn Compitello and Mrs. Ellen McCarson, dental assistants, and dental hygienists Mrs. Janet Crabtree and Miss Sheryl South attended the North Carolina Dental Society meeting at Pinehurst, N.C. last njonth. The division of orthodontics presented a scientific exhibit entitled "Facial Anomalies" at the meeting. Twenty-three students are working as ward clerks this summer as an initiation into Duke's two-year Graduate Program in Hospital Administration. Following a week of orientation, the hospital administration students began their ward clerk duties Monday. The purpose of the clerkship is to acquaint the students with daily operations in a general hospital. The ward. Beginning then, the Medical Center's ZIP code for mail will be 27710, and should be used by anyone who receives his mail through the Medical Center mailroom.
