Car Registration Desk
Set Up in Med Center
Employes who need to register their
automobile with Duke to get a parking
decal can now do so right in the Medical
Center instead of going to the main
Traffic Office on Campus Drive.
Each Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m., an
auto registration desk will be set up in the
basement of the Hospital near the
Medical Records Department.
The plan will be of most benefit to
new Medical Center employes registering
their cars for the first time with Duke,
but any other employe who for some
reason needs another decal can get it at
the desk.
In order to register a vehicle, the
employe must bring with him a valid
driver's license, the car's registration card,
and proof of liability insurance coverage
if the car is registered in another state.
Student-Faculty Game
That Was the Night That Was
9
BRINGING IN THE 'BIG MEN'—Though It didn't seem quite fair to some, Duke
medical students used these two very unusual players in the second annual
student-faculty basketball game at Rogers-Herr Junior High School earlier this month.
Maybe that's the reason the students won, 62-53. Watching in amazement were, left to
right. Dr. John Laszio, Dr. Saul Schanberg, Dr. James Schooler, and Dr. Ronald
Krueger, (staff photo)
GO GET 'EM Dr. Suydam
Osterhout, faculty coach, gives his team
an encouraging word, though he didn't
have much to cheer about when the game
was over. At intermission, the faculty
women took on the women medical
students in what resembled a basketball
game only slightly. The lady faculty did
better than their male counterparts,
defeating the students 10-4. High scorers
for the faculty were Dr. Sandy Smith and
Dr. Catherine Wilfert with 4 points each.
Proceeds from the game went to the
Student National Medical Assocation's
sickle cell anemia education project.

HOW IT'S DONE—Surgical Resident
Don Detmer shows the students how it's
done at the student-faculty game. Though
the score sheet was impossible to
decipher, it looked like Dr. Jim Nuckolls
and Dr. John Reed were high scorers for
the faculty with 8 points each. Dick
Weisiger with 14 and George Leight with
7 led the students, (staff photo)
