SIGMA THETA TAU
The new Duke chapter of Sigma Theta
Tau, national collegiate honor society for
nurses, held its first meeting on Thursday,
Oct. 5, in Hanes House. The members of
the chapter would like to encourage
attendance and participation by Sigma
Theta Tau members from other chapters
who are currently working at Duke
Medical Center. Interested nurses are

in the School of Nursing.
POLITICAL MEETING FOR WOMEN
On Monday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. in the
Gross Chemistry Auditorium a panel
discussion on women's involvement in
politics in election year '72, equal rights
for women, and the political priorities of
the Women's Political Caucus at the
Democratic and Republican National
Conventions will be held for all
interested. Featured speakers will include
Ms. Martha McKay, chairwoman of the
North Carolina Women's Political Caucus,
Dr. Jacquelyne Jackson, associate
professor of medical sociology at Duke,
and Ms. Flo Garrett, Democratic
candidate for Orange County
Commissioner. Questions from the floor
will be welcome.
