Among the principles emphasized
were:
* Know your limits. Do not attempt
to lift alone if you have any doubt
about your ability to do so.
* Lift with your legs. Keep your
legs in a position which j>ermits
them to supply most of the force for
shifting the positions of your trunk.
* When lifting avoid rotation of
your spine. Shift the position of your
feet to turn. Stabilize your hody
against a stationary object whenever
possible. „ . .

the exhibit cases of the
undergraduate library.
Information about Cape Hatteras,
Ocracoke, Roanoke Island, Nag's
Head, and Manteo whet the appetite
to leam more about the geography,
history, folk lore, and legends of one
of North Carolina's most popular
areas.
To help pursue this interest copies
of the bibhography "Good Reading
about the Outer Banks" issued by
the Reference Department of Perkins
Library are available. The exhibit
will be shown through August.

time.
The Federal government has
published a series entitled
"Footnote," which is available in the
Documents Department of Perkins
Library.

STATE CHAMPS—These senior medical technology students comprise a team which
won the North Carolina State Medical Technology (NCSMT) Academic Student Bowl
competition, blitzing their opponents in the finals 110-30. The contest took place at
the annual NCSMT meetings, April 27, in Fayetteville. The Duke team reached the
regional semi-finals before being eliminated. "We are immensely proud of these
students. They have done a fine job representing the profession of medical
