The Durham First Arts Tours begins
Sunday when the Durham Theatre Guild
presents Noel Coward's "Private Lives,"
at 8 p.m. in the Arts Council building,
810 W. Proctor St.
Booklets of tickets may be purchased at
the Chamber of Commerce on the fourth
floor of the Wachovia Bank Building,
downtown, or at the Arts Council.
Purchasers of the Arts Tour package
will receive The Arterie, the Arts
Council's monthly newsletter, as well as
admission to each of the 14 events.
Additional tickets are available for
friends or relatives for each event.
Tour Patrons will receive VIP
treatment at the events with a tour,
reception or talk.
A limited number of tickets are
available, and these should be purchased
before Sunday evening's performance.

Insurance
to be discussed
The presumption that national health
insurance will lead to socialized
medicine will be a central subject at a 7
p.m. meeting today at the Holiday Inn
West.
The meeting will be sponsored by the
Congress of County Medical Societies,
the Private Medical Care Foundation and
Private Practice, a medical journal.
Discussing health care under
socialized medicine in their countries
will be Dr. Samuel Birenbaum of
Ontario, Canada; Dr. Denis Mackey, vice
president of the General Practitioners
Society of Australia; and Dr. Anthony J.
Partridge, an orthopaedic surgeon from
Sussex, England.
Discussing the American health
system will be Rep. Philip M. Crane,
R-Ill., a member of the health
subcommittee of the Ways and Means
Committee; Clealand P. Baker, vice
president of corporate planning for
Burroughs Wellcome; Dr. Gary North,
